Unity Temple on the Plaza

All Seats $15 at the Door (Cash/Check Only)

Friday August 25, PSI is excited to have Terri Daniel, MA, CT, a hospice and hospital-trained clinical chaplain, ordained interfaith minister and end-of-life educator certified in death, dying and bereavement by the Association of Death Education and Counseling. In this presentation, she will discuss the importance of focusing on inner transformation rather than external events when working with grief, and will explain how to use mystical practices such as meditation and sacred ceremonies for healing. The presentation will include a guided meditation and a simple ritual for releasing the energy of pain and trauma.

Terri’s interest in the journey of the soul through birth and death began at age 12, when she began experiencing non-ordinary realities that sparked a lifelong interest in following a spiritual path But it wasn’t until the death of her 16 year-old son in 2006 that she immersed herself in studying multi-cultural religious traditions and metaphysical practices that help the dying and the grieving to view their experiences through a mystical lens. Her unique form of “radical mysticism” incorporates elements of Buddhism, Shamanism, ancient pagan practices, Gnosticism and other spiritual traditions to break down limiting beliefs about forgiveness, divine judgment and negative experience. Terri replaces these beliefs with an empowering vision of a co-created universe where there are no victims or perpetrators, only souls seeking expansion and awareness.

Terri is the author of three books on death and the afterlife:
. A Swan in Heaven: Conversations Between Two Worlds
. Embracing Death: A New Look at Grief, Gratitude and God
. Turning the Corner on Grief Street: Loss and Bereavement as a Journey of Awakening

Come join us and hear Terri explain how to use mystical practices for healing and experience her guided meditation and a ritual for releasing the energy of pain and trauma.

Terri’s “Grief as a Mystical Journey” workshop is Saturday, August 26. This workshop provides a rare experience of transformational learning, interactive processes and sacred rituals for navigating the grief journey. Participants will be led to deeper healing by moving toward an internal shift rather than focusing on external events. We do this through guided meditation and gentle body work, along with ritual and ceremony, which gives form to the formless and converts unseen healing energies into practical tools. Through guided visualizations, story sharing and sacred ceremony, you will learn to transmute trauma and grief into new forms of love, acceptance and spiritual awareness by embracing a sacred perspective in which grief can be viewed as a gift of growth rather than a meaningless tragedy.
Saturday, August 26, 1pm-5pm.
3665 W. 95th Street, Overland Park, KS
